Star Trek Beyond
This pic’s plotline brims with optimism and feels as if it could have been beamed right out of the original series.
Alice Through the Looking Glass
This yesterday-and-tomorrow-but-never-today amusement feels less dark and dangerous than the Alice in Wonderland original.
The Angry Birds Movie
What more were we expecting from a cartoon based on a phone app that shoots miffed birds at pigs?
Love & Friendship
Call it an 18th-century romcom, if you will, a silly, sometimes winkingly salacious warm-up for the likes of Sense & Sensibility and Pride & Prejudice.
Ratchet & Clank
It’s a fast-paced, action-heavy story linked to the franchise’s games. It even attempts to strike a kid-friendly balance up on the big screen.
Union Bound
Union Bound is based on the real-life diaries of Joseph Hoover, and it is determined to remind viewers that slavery is indeed a terrible evil.
The Jungle Book
An audacious—and kind of awesome at times—update of the Rudyard Kipling-written, Disney-appropriated classic tale.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2
Toula and her big fat Greek family are just as bold and brassy as you remember, just as warm and welcoming.
Miracles From Heaven
This is a very human-feeling drama that’s still all about God’s priorities, God’s choices and God’s timing.
Zootopia
More carrots than you might expect to chew on while cabbing the kiddie crew home.
